On 21st February 2023, being a regular event, St.Zatti Seminar Hall hosted Techie Tuesday and Mr.Narayanan Venkatesh, Project Consultant, was the resource person for the program.
On this day, the main focal points for the students to understand were Lean Management, Six Sigma, and Total Quality Management in Print Industry. Our resource person emphasized the importance of Continuous improvement and throughput process development and Press optimization.
Continuous process improvement (CPI) is the practice of continually tracking process performance to find inefficiencies and eradicate them. But setting up a continuous improvement culture in any organization and the beginning of the process was clearly briefed in the session.
The resource person gave an in-depth idea on what are the major roles performed by the quality department and the significance of various quality management tools like Six Sigma and Lean management.
Various slides were projected to the students to compare and understand the growth and evolution of Quality management. The resource person also shared his knowledge and experience on how the customer-centric printing industry revolves around the quality-conscious process and how one can attract and keep customers if these quality management tools were implemented and followed in the production unit.
Our resource person also showed a pictorial representation of various quality matrices and explained how these numbers must be interpreted to achieve the desired results. Students came with lots of questions which were clarified with proper examples by the resource person.
Eventually, the students became aware of various quality processes followed in the Printing industry and got themselves updated at the end of these sessions.
The resource person Mr.Narayanan Venkatesh was felicitated by our Head of the department Mr.Ignatius Adaikalaraj, with Shawl and Memento and concluded the session with his Vote of thanks. Overall, a session to remember for the GDC diploma students who attended the session.
