In an earnest endeavor to raise awareness about leprosy and contribute to its eradication, SIGA Polytechnic College hosted an insightful event in collaboration with the National Leprosy Eradication Program. On Wednesday, the 13th of September 2023, our college had the privilege of welcoming esteemed resource persons from the program who shed light on the vital work being done to combat this ancient and stigmatized disease.
The resource persons for the program were Mr. Isaac Arunkumar Y, District Health Educator; Mr. Ramesh S, Health Inspector; Mr. Mukesh Health Inspector; and Mr. Krishna raj Non-Medical Supervisor.
The resource persons gave a presentation on the history of leprosy, the symptoms of the disease, and the treatment options available. They also spoke about the stigma associated with leprosy and the importance of early diagnosis and treatment.
The students asked a number of questions about leprosy, and the resource persons were able to answer them in a clear and concise manner. Let us stand united in raising awareness and working towards a world free from the burden of leprosy. Together, we can make a difference.
