71st College and Parents’ Day celebrations of SIGA Polytechnic College were held on 18th Mar 2023 in Don Bosco Hall, Chennai. Mr. Paramasivam- Secretary of DMK Party Anna Nagar North, and Mrs. Paramasivam Counsellor of the 100th ward of Anna Nagar headed the program along with Rev. Fr. Francis Xavier SDB who was the Guest of honor of the day. Parents were Special invites to college and the Parents Day program. Rev. Fr. Francis Xavier SDB performed the deliverance of blessings. Mr. Joseph Arockia was selected as a representative of the parent-teacher association by students’ parents. The best volunteers of the academic year are honoured by chief guests. The program started with Tamilthaai Vaalthu. Rev. Fr. Nallayan welcomed the gathering and he felicitated the chief guest, Guest of honor, and other dignitaries of the day. Mr. Ignatius AdaikalaRaj, Head of the Department, read the Vision and Mission of our College.

The Annual Report was presented by Rev. Fr. P.T Joseph SDB, Principal of SIGA. The students who have won awards for various achievements during this academic year were awarded cash, certificates, and medals. The chief guest and other dignitaries awarded students. The chief guests honored the winners in sports and games at divisional and state levels. Mr.Paramasivam delivered his presidential address on unity in the power society. He praised and appreciated the service the Salesian of Don Bosco did for the youth. Rev. Fr. Francis Xavier SDB, the guest of honor of the day, had accosted that hard work is the tool for Success. He shared his experience with the students to overcome problems with success. Students showcased their special talents in front of their friends, parents, and relatives through their cultural program. Eventually, the vote of thanks was preceded by Mr. Meril Anand, Head of the Department of Salesian Institute of Graphic Art, SIGA.
