We are Indians by birth. There is nothing to boast about or be ashamed of this identity. We had no control over our birthplace, society, class, creed, language, or family. But if we choose our country for a living, and if most of us decide to remain Indian, then it is an indicator that India is a progressing nation. And we become Indians by choice. 

Moreover, it is not just what rank India holds in the global index that matters, for it is the gimmick of a nation. Instead, if the least of us could have freedom, respect, decent life, and a workplace, India will be accredited as a model nation. And we can say, India is my country, मेरा देश (mera desh). 

The analogy of citizens of India holds good for membership in SIGAPPU. It is by choice of members that makes the organization stand out differently from other units. Whether it is an annual subscription or a life membership, each one embraces the mission of SIGA (Salesian Institute of Graphic Arts). Then, the Alumni Connect 2023 will unfold naturally.
