On January 3, 2022, Mr. Pathrose, a former SIGA student (1993–1996), a SIGA alumnus, and an entrepreneur from Italy, paid a friendly visit to our college. Mr. Pathrose, a native of Tiruvannamalai, studied at SIGA and now works for himself in Italy. During his studies, he worked as a propaganda member under the guidance of Rev. Bro. Santi. The students had the opportunity to interact with the distinguished guest speaker at DB Hall during the interactive session.
The welcome address was given by Mr. Jerald Sagayaraj, SIGA Polytechnic College’s Youth Service Coordinator. Prof. J. George Fernandaz of Loyola College in Chennai served as the event’s host. It was more like an interview session than a speech. Mr. George was quizzing the visitor, and Mr. Pathrose was responding to his questions. Mr. George attempted to reflect the student’s mindset by summing up the questions in a way that highlighted aspects of his student life as well as the factors that helped him succeed and survive in a foreign country during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Mr. Pathrose is an inspirational figure for students from simple backgrounds, demonstrating that with discipline, hard work, and God’s blessings, anyone can truly be an achiever and trendsetter in whatever field they choose. He reflected fondly on his time as a student at SIGA. He was a student who excelled in school and had a keen interest in sports. In addition, he discovered an opportunity to work on correspondence from the college office to foreign delegates and well-wishers for the SIGA community.
He also encouraged the students to express gratitude to God and seek his guidance in their daily lives. He discussed the printing technology’s potential in other countries. He gave a rundown of the printing industry’s most recent technological breakthroughs. The students were inspired by their conversation with him to believe how far they could go in their chosen field. The vote of thanks was given by Mr. Ignatius Adaikala Raj, HoD-SIGA Polytechnic College.
