A technical symposium to highlight the talents of young printers through competitions and to make them industry ready was conducted by the Department of Printing of SIGA Polytechnic College on 20 February 2020.  This event was held to commemorate the International Printers Day celebrated on 24^th February of every year across the globe.

Students from colleges such as Institute of Printing Technology  (IPT), Chennai, Arasan Ganesan Polytechnic College, Sivakasi, Don Bosco Institute of Graphic Art and Communication Technology (DBIGACT), Cochin, Sivakasi Institute of Printing Technology, Sivakasi, and Sagaya Annai Graphic Arts Institution, Bagalur, Hosur along with the students of SIGA Polytechnic College, Chennai, participated in the competitions.

Paper Presentation on upcoming printing and packaging trends, Poster Designing on International Printers Day 2020, colour mixing, Bind and Finish the book, Build-the-Box in Packaging and Pre-flighting were the competitions conducted for the participants.  The panel of jury consisted of Mr. Divyanathan, Lecturer, SIPT, Mr. Pinchala Narayanan IPT and Mr. John Paul, Senior Graphic Designer, Shawk India Pvt. Ltd.  The programme was organized by Mr. Fredrick, HOD and other faculty members of SIGA Polytechnic College.  The winners were awarded with medals and certificates.  All the participants were given participation certificates.
