NEW SEMESTER COINCIDES WITH THE DAY OF THE FEAST OF IMMACULATE CONCEPTION:
Fr. P.T. Joseph, Principal, gave the morning talk to the students in the assembly. He welcomed the formal course boys for yet another new semester. He thanked the non-formal students for cooperating and putting up their hard work in bringing out the calendar work of the SIGA Press. He insisted the students to be regular and punctual to classes as this semester has the least working days.
HOLY EUCHARISTIC CELEBRATION:
A solemn mass was held on the occasion of the feast of Immaculate Conception by the Rev. Fr. K.M. Jose, the Provincial of the Chennai Province along with the other Salesians of the community.
INAUGURATION OF SIGA INFO HUB:
To commemorate the 50 years of SIGA at the Taylors Road Campus Rev. Fr. John Christy, Rector declared the new project of building the SIGA Info Hub to facilitate the students of SIGA to access the latest technologies such as digital library, sophisticated computer labs etc. The members of SIGAPPU – the SIGA Past Pupils Unit were also present. The past pupils pledged their support to make the project successful and issued donations in the form of cheques to Fr. Rector and also assured that they would reach the other past pupils to contribute for this noble cause. Fr. Principal also spoke on the occasion and thanked the past pupils for their constant support. He asked the students gathered that they should also be ready to contribute to the society when their turn comes and thus serve the poor and the needy.
RELEASE OF BOOK ON REV. BRO. JULIAN SANTI SDB:
A book on Rev. Bro. Julian Santi, SDB named, “GOOD AND FAITHFUL SERVANT,“ was released on this occasion by Fr. K.M. Jose, Provincial of Chennai Province. Fr. John Christy, Rector distributed the copies to the Past Pupils of SIGA and the Salesian Community of SIGA. The book is a tribute to Bro. Santi from the SIGA Community to thank him for his wonderful and tireless service to the poor and the needy till his last breath. It celebrates Bro. Santi’s life in photographs from the beginning of his career at SIGA till his last breath. The book also voices the tribute by many Salesians associated with him, his family members and close friends.
