The 400 students of Printing Technology gathered to inaugurate the clubs and celebrate their togetherness at SIGA Kilpauk Campus. The chief guest, Mr. Visvakumar G.N. President – MPLA graced the occasion with his inspirational speech on how knowledge and skill together create wonders in the lives of technicians. He sighted success stories and good practices from the industry, as a way forward. He reiterated the availability of the state of the art technology and facilities in the institute that are not found in engineering institutes in India. The two 4 colour Heidelberg and an 8 colour Heidelberg offset printing machines are indeed student’s asset in the hands-on training process.
The freshers and senior students staged various theme-based programmes that described the activities of their clubs. Mr. Anbalagan. R-Secretary MPLA along with Mr. Krishnamoorthy, Joint Secretary MPLA was present on this occasion. The master of the ceremony, Antony, the College Pupil Leader Anto Franklin and the Asst. College Pupil Benny Robert managed the event. The six clubs are Prayer, Media, Volunteer, Entrepreneur, Social and Eco clubs.
Apart from the outcome based educational system initiated at the college, the integral human growth and social development of each student are well addressed within the club activities. The activities are committed to achieve a pluralistic community and to develop rational, critical and creative capabilities of the students. The key factors that propel the clubs are value-based creativity, communication, team spirit, innovation, tolerance, acceptance, and social responsibility. As a result, the students engage in active learning, build value system and set high ethical standards for themselves.
