This year being the golden jubilee of the DBYC of the Rinaldi oratory, the football match was being organized in honor of Br. Santi (Br. Santi memorial Trophy).

The match was organized by the Super Seniors under the guidance of Fr. Thomas the DBYC director. The match began at 10a.m. with the flag hoisting by Rev. Fr. Dominic Matthews SDB, the Rector of SIGA and Fr. Thomas, the director of the DBYC Rinaldi oratory. After the flag hoisting, Fr. Recto has given the words of welcome and spoke about Br. Santi who lived and developed the institution and encouraged all the children to participate vigorously in the football match and told the children to play fairly without hurting anybody and without any clash, after which, Fr. Thomas also spoke and encouraged all the children to play well and appreciated all the teams who have taken lot of trouble to come over to participate, and for having accepted the invitation play the football match.

There were about 35 teams, participated in the Br. Santi Memorial Trophy under the age 14. Children from all the inter-DBYC, from Chennai region and other schools have come to participate in the football match conducted in honor of Br. Santi as a token of gratitude and also as the oratory is celebrating its golden jubilee this year. The entire match had been well coordinated by the super seniors, and it was systematically planned and executed and made it a grand success.

All the children who have come to participate in the match have really enjoyed playing football and have come to know each other from the other teams. The match continued till 10 p.m., and finally the prized were distributed to the winners and runners, and other teams were given participation certificates and a medal as well. The entire match was planned and executed successfully.
