3 Years Full Time SIGA Diploma In Printing Technology

Eligibility: 10th Pass.

The academic year starts in June, except for first year GDC which starts usually in July. The institute follows a six day week, Monday through Saturday. Classes begin at 8.25 a.m. with an assembly and end at 5.30 p.m. On Saturdays, however, the Institute closes at 1.00 p.m. Students are expected to be responsible, regular and diligent in the performance of their academic duties and faithful in the observance of the rules and regulations of the institute. It is not permissible for any student, during his training period, to take up any other course of study or parttime job or sit for any other exams without the explicit permission of the Principal.

The Siga Diploma Course (SDC): This too is a three years course and is offered to students who do not normally qualify for the Government Diploma due to one reason or another. The SDC syllabus and training programme is similar to that of the GDC. However, it allows greater flexibility and creative use of the curriculum. SDC examinations will be conducted by the institute itself. In the third year of their studies, the SDC students will be required to undergo a six-month Industrial Exposure, to give them an experience of actual industrial situation. At the end of the exposure, each student presents a report which will be assessed by the staff.

Both these courses offer the students ample opportunities to become competent in all aspects of printing. The medium of instruction for both courses is English. Proficiency in English will be a great asset for anyone looking for a career in printing.
